Virtual Speaker Series: Restoring one of the last mackerel luggers with Andrew Guest
For nearly 8 years, Andrew Guest painstakingly restored Rosalind, one of the last surviving mackerel luggers from Cornwall. He will speak about his process, which included felling and milling many of the trees himself, recycling of several sorts, fabricating tools and hardware, learning more than he thought possible about steam bending, and discovering the limits of what a ford ranger can be made to do. He will also speak about the challenges still ahead.
