Support the Boat Shop

The Carpenter’s Boat Shop thrives thanks to the dedication of our apprentices and the generosity of supporters like you. While our apprentices craft boats and furniture that help sustain our mission, it is the contributions from our community that make it possible for us to continue offering transformative programs, fostering personal growth, and building a supportive, service-driven community.
Your donation helps fund our tuition-free apprenticeship program, where participants learn valuable skills in boatbuilding, seamanship, and community living. Every gift, no matter the size, directly supports our work of nurturing lives and enriching our community.

Volunteer

The Carpenter’s Boat Shop is proud to have a dedicated group of volunteers known as the Friends of the Boat Shop. Over 20 volunteers generously give their time each week to support our ongoing mission and work.

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

Our volunteers assist with a variety of tasks, from helping with boat building projects and maintaining our fleet of a dozen boats, to crafting Adirondack chairs and Shaker oval boxes that generate income for the Boat Shop. Some volunteers even offer courses to our apprentices, sharing their valuable knowledge and skills.

We are incredibly grateful for this kind, talented, and generous group, and we’re always excited to welcome more volunteers into our community.
